Joe received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee, his Master's degree from Murray State University and his Ph.D. from the University of Memphis. He has been a University Professor of Leadership and Management and a College Dean. He left the University to start the Leaderpoint Consulting Group. This company consulted with corporate leaders for more than half of the Fortune 500 companies. He was a member of the National Speaker Association and has spoken at meetings and conventions throughout the country. Joe is the pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Brownsville, TN where he lives with his wife of 50 years.
In 2007, following a calling, Joe left his consulting firm and along with his friend, Kyle Rote, Jr., began In The Zone Ministries. This national mens ministry presented large events throughout the country featuring some of the most successful Christian businessmen and Christian sports hero's in America. Events were held in arenas and large churches. A listing of select previous speakers are included on the Contact page.
Joe has written six books intended to provide a deeper understanding of God’s love and purpose for readers. Whether it's a heartfelt testimony, a powerful reflection, or a life-changing lesson, his work is intended as a tool for spiritual growth. Allow the written word to uplift and deepen your faith. Joe currently speaks to church groups and is a frequent speaker at Mayor Prayer Breakfasts across the country. He spent 20 years traveling America speaking to some of the largest corporations in the country.
